Honestly, I’ve never listened to Black Sabbath before. I know all you uber super mega metal fans are gonna be yelling at the stream “What the fuck man?! Never heard Black Sabbath?! The fuck is wrong with you?!” And fair enough. It’s been one of those bands for me that I’ve always been meaning to listen to but I’ve never gotten around to it. Then I remembered the other day seeing that they released a new album a few months ago, and I thought this would be a great opportunity to listen to them. And it was.

I didn’t realize how long they’re songs were either. When I looked at the first two and saw that they were over 12 minutes combined, I said, “Well. I’m gonna be a here for a while.” But I had fun listening to it, especially since I’ve never listened to them before. The vocals were good, the guitars excellent, and the drums were exceedingly good. They sort of remind me of what Metallica would be if they didn’t go down the path they did with their music. Know what I mean? Their music is modernized metal in a way but you can still here the evident 80s style influence in there which makes it sound really good and flows greatly. And like all great bands that have song lengths like these guys do, they pull it off well and don’t disappoint at all. I’m really happy I picked this up and I have to give a bit of a thanks to one of my personal friends who recommended it to me, and my other friend who gave me easy access to listen to it when I couldn’t. Big help.

Now, I don’t want to extend this review any further because I’m sure that with the band’s popularity there’s most likely several hundreds (if I have to exaggerate a little bit) of other reviews out there that were made within a month of the album’s release and I don’t want to regurgitate the same jargon that they said. I want to keep things fresh and in my own words.
