I was recently contacted by a UK-based record company called Footloose Records on Twitter. They had asked me if I’d like to listen to and review two EPs from two different bands signed to them: Crossburner and Trapjaw. And naturally I said yes and began listening and downloading once I got the email.

After dealing with some very minor complications, I first listened to Crossburner’s self-titled EP. The album was quite nice and heavy. It had several aspects of good heavy metal tracks that could use some tuning and maybe a little bit of refinement ( pretty sure those both mean the same thing but I digress). The songs were overall good and I guess the term to describe them in the perspective of all of metaldom would be “less than common” but it’s still unusual in a way. And as always I mean in a good way, never a bad way.
Trapjaw’s, who I’ve been told is German (but they sing in English as far as I could tell. Could be wrong) also self-titled EP is also heavy and hardcore as the previous album. The tracks were fast paced and nice to listen to if you like their style.

Both albums were overall good, but as a lot of new bands with only an EP as their only released work, improvements can be made and things changed. But the bands and their music have my respect and I appreciate the work they’ve put into making their EPs.
