Eleven After – Awake and Dreaming

20140503-110045.jpg Eleven After is one of those bands that has fused the two similar yet different genres of rock and metal, and made it so that they can go hand in hand together seamlessly without any faltering while doing so. The band’s style of musical notes that range from normal rock to metal and vocals that stretch across the same bounds makes their music a unique work that I can tell has a “small”, but respectable, amount of fans that can and will grow when they produce more music like they have and introduce it to more and more people who haven’t already.

“Awake and Dreaming” was given out in late of 2012, but that hasn’t stopped it from causing small ripples in the rock and metal community however small they are. The album has nice style and lyrical quality that goes beyond what most amateur bands can pull off successfully. The vocals of this band speak inspiring lyrics while at the same time keeping the rock-metal tempo going and being able to have the correct amount of brutality while still containing restraint when singing, if you can grasp my meaning when I say that. The guitars and bass can go from a rock style that can be compared to those of Three Days Grace, but then they can automatically switch to the heaviness that can be compared to that of some “soft” metal bands like Mudvayne from their album “A New Game”. The drums also can keep pace with the rest of the band very well and it creates and pounding sound that can attract the people of the metal community who like drums that can do that.

This band is one that isn’t done yet. They still have more to do and they have the capacity and definitely the ability to go farther and beyond than with what they’ve done with “Awake and Dreaming”. I also have to thank the good people of the band Alice Sweet Alice for recommending this and another band, for they have played with both of them and say that they like their sound and all, and I was more than happy to take suggestions from them after the time we’ve spent contacting each other the past few weeks.
