Ever forget something, and then sit there one day and think that there’s something important you’re forgetting? That’s what I thought earlier today. “Shit. . . there’s something I should’ve done by now. . . but I don’t know what.” And then it dawned on me and I went “Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!” I’ve been looking forward to the full version of this album for weeks and I forgot that it came out Tuesday! How dumb is that?! I frantically went on a finally listened to this 16 track 60+ minute album. . . and the wait and me calling myself stupid repeatedly was worth it. . .
As a rock album, “Opposites of Light” holds its own and stands firm against other rock bands of today. When I saw the length of the album, I can’t help but say that my laziness and procrastinator came out and they both said, “Goddamn it. . . ” But thankfully, none of the songs were bad. In my opinion at least. They were more than tolerable, they had good rhythm, pace, tempo, style, quality, all the things an album needs to do to sell and make the band known if it isn’t already. And if Die So Fluid isn’t known, it should be now. The album is really good. The band has been able to form a rock album that is over an hour long without fucking up, making any mistakes, keeps your attention, and sounds good. You don’t see that a lot anymore, if at all. If a band can do just one of those, much less all of them, then they deserve for that album to be listened to quite a bit at the very least. This band has a unity and quality to it that is amazing and great it shocks me it really does. And for whatever reason I think the universe wants me to listen to more bands that have woman singers because, guess what, Die So Fluid has a lady as a singer. This band is good and earns its work and its profits that it can get from this album.
