This album was a piece of work. But in a good sense of the term. I’ve never heard of Down before… but I like what I’ve discovered. This being an EP, this will be a short review. The deep, guttural voice of the vocalist sounds to me as if the lead singer of Pantera got a much deeper voice and sung with more intensity than what he did. The guitars are heavy and brutal in a way that I did not expect. And to be honest I wasn’t expecting much with an album cover as colorful as that… but I’ve been wrong before and of course I’m again wrong. And the drums have a pounding beat and rhythm to them that is a must for any great super heavy metal album. I heard Part 1 after hearing this and I thought that was just as good. Go check them out and give them a good listening to. Worth it.
