With the release of Among the Betrayed’s new EP, “The Need To Make A Change”, coming out within the next month (June 27th), the band was generous enough to send me  a copy of the EP and take a look. The album was fantastic. I cannot put it any other way except it was great, good, amazing, stunning, and that it was the shit. Even if you’ve only heard the two tracks that are on Bandcamp.com, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

“The Need To Make A Change” is a greatly performed album that is heavy from start to finish with the guitars and drums playing as hard as any metal band, no doubt, but it was the vocals and style that made me love this album even more. The vocalist has a voice that screams relentlessly but keeping it smooth and in a tone that literally emits hatred, frustration, and rage whenever he speaks. The style is such that if the guitars and drums are mashing along, the vocals can be either smooth and controlled or loud and unleashed and they will still stay in tune with the rest of band! It could be heavy guitars and smooth voice, or soft guitars and screaming. They both work very well. The band members have managed to bring themselves together and create an EP that is one that will go down in history as the amazing kick-starter to their lives as a heavy metal band, and those careers will take them far and wide, meeting many people and making many albums that will allow them to climb the ranks of the world’s musicians and take their rightful place among the renowned bands of their genre for years to come.
