I don’t know what it is about Australia, but they can put out some good fucking music no matter what the genre. No matter if it’s rock, rap, or metal the country always manages to put out some sort of music that I can enjoy anytime of day anywhere, and it’s amazing. But right now, the latest thing to reach my ears from down under is Voyager’s new album “V”. Due to me being a lazy bastard sometimes, I did not think to look past bandcamp.com for the full album, so when I posted this review at first on Twitter, Voyager thankfully notified me and I went to revolvermag.com to listen to “V” in full.
The first band that came to my mind when I heard Voyager was Volbeat. The style and musical quality of “V” sounds a lot like a Volbeat album to me. For whatever reason the song “Still Counting” by Volbeat comes to mind every time I hear this album. I don’t know why, it just does. But the vocals for the songs are smooth and have a good flow to them that gives them a good sound that just about anyone can enjoy. And that’s good because the music is very good and deserves to have people from all around the world listen to it, no matter where they’re from. The guitars also have the great ability to be going from a calm, smooth sound to a sound that hovers between the line of hard rock and metal, however fine of a line that may be. The drums are much the same way with being able to go from one completely different tone to another in heart beat while still having them sound good and rhythmic.
