“Seeking Prospect” starts off with an instrumental as many other metal bands have done so before it, like Disturbed’s “Remnants” at the beginning of “Asylum” which was a great album as we all know. Many albums that start off instrumentally like this usually turn out to be good, and sometimes other great albums have the instrumentals mid-album, but I typically find a metal album to be great if it has one instrumental track anywhere. Thankfully, this one didn’t let me down. I wish this was a longer album, but all I’ve got to live with is a 5-track EP which is better than nothing as always.
Throughout the entire album, the vocalist who does the higher-pitched vocals does a great job of keeping tone that head-bangers love and putting a sharp, loud sound on the track that is very well done and adds to the awesomeness of the album. The deeper vocals (while they could use some refining and maybe go a little bit deeper in volume) were also good with the fact that they bring the sort of vocals that the more hardcore metal fans come to love and flock to whenever they hear about. . . what? 30 seconds of it? They love it that much, yes. The guitars and drums for this are harsh, unrelenting, and brutal in such a way that had me tapping my foot and entranced in their notes almost immediately. If only this was a longer album. . . oh well! Can’t get everything you want always. This was a good album which made me happy because I saw that this was one of two album that Apparition has released total (that I know of), and that means this band has more albums in store. Hopefully a lot more, and if they do then that’s great because I’d love to see what else The Apparition has to show us and I’m sure that it’ll be great.
