This band is the Australian Killswitch Engage. And I say that with the utmost confidence that many people can back up what I;m saying because The Amity Affliction is a band that I’ve unfortunately never heard, and now that I have I must listen to their two previous albums because “Let the Ocean Take Me” was fucking fantastic. The dual vocals in this made me (metaphorically) shit my pants. The guitars and drums were so heavy and went so well with the vocals and their lyrics that it felt so good as a metal fan to hear because this is one of those albums that when people like me hear it. . . our brains melt and we can’t move because of how great the music is. Throughout the ENTIRE album, you are never left with a dull moment because the tracks are engaging, they never lose your attention, and the sound of them alone will keep you stuck to your seat as if some asshole came up and Gorilla Glued your pants to your chair. Even the ending for “Never Alone”  keeps you listening because out of the whole album that ending was the one that stunned me the most because of how unusual and unconventional it was. . . I love it it’s great. The tone of the entire is also amazing because it attracts your focus with its themes and the music makes it work so well that I can’t express in words how amazing that is. “Let the Ocean Take Me” is on iTunes now and I suggest everyone to go buy it. Do it. Right now. Stop reading. Do it now. And I have left to say is. . . Australia still hasn’t let me down in good music.
