Every Time I Die – From Parts Unknown

20140630-181750-65870412.jpg The first thing that I could think of that would cover what “From Parts Unknown” is to me is the intensity like that shown by Rage Against the Machine. We all know about them I imagine, so we all know that Rage always had that “in your face” feel that allowed them to become remembered for years and years while still being able to be remembered for their style alone. I’m not saying Every Time I Die copied Rage, I’m just saying that I see a connection between the two that is really good. “From Parts Unknown” was a fast-paced and very hyper album that, even though most of its songs were less than two minutes, were filled to the brim with energy and not having one second of being bland or a sense of getting repetitive. The vocals throughout the entire album are loud, harsh, and above all energetic and that makes them good because you don’t listen to metal for someone who’s singing softly like this is country. You listen to it because you want something full of energy and without feeling dull or boring. Hell that’s how I wake up in the morning, blast some Slipknot in my ears and boom I’m awake because they’re full of energy. The guitars are also filled with energy in that they have very sporadic notes and can keep along with the hectic and awesome beat of the drums. The tone of “From Parts Unknown” is also good because it keeps you listening and you have no choice but to hear the music because it is a constant siege upon your ears that never lets up no matter what you do or how low you put your volume. Overall a good album that should get fans of Every Time I Die salivating for tomorrow’s release of this album. Definitely one to check out for sure.
