I can never stop myself from trying to judge how bands will be based upon their names once I see them. Instinct and human nature, I suppose. But Tongue and Cheek are opposite of what you’d expect if you judge upon names alone. Their single “Eighteen Years” is a fast paced track that keeps the beat going non-stop the whole time and never allows your attention to wander anywhere except towards the music and its sound. The guitars and drums had an excellent combination because together they sound amazing, but still great when they’re done alone. It’s always nice when a band can do that because that’s when you know they can do almost anything with utmost skill and perfection. The vocals are harsh and unrelenting whenever they’re present which gives “Eighteen Years” an edgy tone that not many people can or will resist. The single is an overall great song that makes me look forward to what else Tongue and Cheek have in store for a full album.
