I’ve always heard mixed things about Suicide Silence. “Awe, it’s total shit don’t listen to it.” “It’s great! Check it out later or right now. Do it!” With that conflicting feedback I never really decided whether I should listen to them or not. I didn’t know, but when I saw that a stream of “You Can’t Stop Me” had been recently released I decided “fuck it” and listened to their newest album. And here’s my verdict on Suicide Silence even though it’s only based on this one album : they’re quite good but not the greatest in my opinion. The band has a great sound, good vocals, guitars, and drums, well performed rhythm and track but in the end it didn’t really stick if you can catch my drift when I say that. It wasn’t really something that’d I’d remember about sometime later and I’d go “man, I really want to listen to that again”. But it is something that if it played randomly on Spotify or on my iPod I’d let it play because why not?

Like I said, everything else about “You Can’t Stop Me” was really good. The vocals were harsh and loud every song and they had a sound that I couldn’t help but compare them to those of Killswitch Engage because they just sounded so much alike to me. And of course they had a great tone throughout the album that just never ends the entire time and gives it that needed emphasis to make the album all the more hardcore and badass sounding. The guitars do a very similar job in that they do a really good job at having a great tone and sound the whole album and paired with the drums they just make a great combo that has an epic sound that doesn’t disappoint listeners who enjoy their style which I’ve no doubt is some people but not many because I imagine Suicide Silence has a very large fan base. And they deserve it because I bet if I listen to their previous albums I won’t be disappointed with what I’d hear because they got the talent, the skills, the resources so all they gotta do is actually do it. I’ll also bet that that fan base will grow when this album is released on the 15th this month (in North America).
