Literally this is how it happened : eating breakfast, friend texts me “You gotta listen and review Volumes’ new album!!!” to which I respond “Alright”. I know that sounds pretty stupid but that’s how I handle suggestions. You say it and I’ve no choice but to say okay because I’ve no idea what the album is so I can’t deny it because I think it’ll be bad simply because I haven’t heard it yet. But “No Sleep” by Volumes is one of those that I wouldn’t have found if someone didn’t tell me about it. I really liked “No Sleep” because the guitars and vocals were quite sporadic but kept their tone the whole time along with excellent rhythm that kept up the whole album that sometimes flowed directly into the next track. And the drums kept up the beat and pace throughout every song and that gave them a background tone that I really enjoyed and tapped my foot to the entire time without realizing until half way through the album. “No Sleep” is a good sophomore metal album that’ll surely get some people hooked to the sound of Volumes’ good music.
