Incite – Up In Hell + Fallen (singles)

While the full version of Incite’s upcoming album “Up In Hell” doesn’t release until September 2nd, the band has been kind enough as to put up 2 of the tracks from the album up onto soundcloud, “Up In Hell” and “Fallen”. Both are very well done in my opinion because they have a nice hardcore sound to them that really goes along with the brutal raw feel of the guitars. The vocals have an incredible sound and feel also because the singer really throws all of his hate and frustration into how he sings and that makes each lyric sound … Continue reading Incite – Up In Hell + Fallen (singles)

The Haunted – Exit Wounds

I could have sworn “Exit Wounds” was going to come out in September and not 4 days ago (in Europe, Sept. 2 in America so I wasn’t completely wrong). But I’m not complaining! Sooner is a hell of a lot better than later and I was excited for this album. Especially when I heard The Haunted’s single “Cutting Teeth” from this and heard that Ola Englund from Feared is the new guitarists. “Exit Wounds” was fucking awesome and totally lived up to my expectations 110%. Everything is done with maximum heaviness and it sounds great. The vocals are absolutely brutal … Continue reading The Haunted – Exit Wounds

Circaic – False Prophetic Roads

With this being Circaic’s (as far as I know) debut album, it’s not bad at all. But, of course, like all debut albums and the bands it could use a few different changes in my eyes. To other people it’s perfect, I’m sure. But this is just my view. And really the only thing that I felt wasn’t as good as it could’ve been were the softer non-screaming vocals. I just didn’t think they sounded as good as they could be. I’ve got no problem with the vocals other than that. Maybe Circaic could just make the album purely the … Continue reading Circaic – False Prophetic Roads

Thousand Foot Krutch – Oxygen:Inhale

The new album by Thousand Foot Krutch “Oxygen:Inhale” is a really nice and smooth hard rock album that utilizes several aspects of hard rock to their advantage. One of them is the vocals. The vocals have that usual smooth but edgy sound to them that many people including myself have fallen in love with around the world just because it’s used so often because it sounds so good. Also with them being very rhythmic and sounding great along the guitars that do awesome in the more intense songs and the softer ones like “Set Me On Fire”. As I said … Continue reading Thousand Foot Krutch – Oxygen:Inhale

Despite – EPic

“EPic” was a killer of an album. I’m sure someone could’ve told by the cover which I absolutely love, it’s amazing. Being Despite’s second release it really blew me away. While I haven’t heard their first release (yet), I can tell already that they were either this good from the start or got much better over time because these types of albums don’t happen on a normal basis. The EP was a very well done energetic metal album that is classified as death metal on their bandcamp page . . . I don’t think I would personally call this death … Continue reading Despite – EPic

Devilstrip – Rise

Devilstrip’s upcoming hard rock album “Rise” really hearkens to original hard rock in that it really doesn’t hover between rock, hard rock, and some form of metal. It just stays hard rock, and good sounding hard rock to boot. Everything was all nice and smooth but it always had that razor sharp edge that all hard rock fans have loved since its creation. “Rise” is very well rounded with good vocals, solid guitars, and drums that just have an excellent pace especially for their genre and that makes the songs sound all the more better. Fortunately, you can all understand what … Continue reading Devilstrip – Rise

Beyond the Styx – Sloughing Off the Shades

“Sloughing Off the Shades” is the second EP from Beyond the Styx that (in my own personal opinion) was made for the more hardcore metal fans who can really listen to any metal and still like it. I’m not saying I didn’t like the EP, I liked it I really did. While it may not be something that’d I’d personally buy and throw on my iPod but it’s definitely something I’d listen to casually. The vocals have a  really good sound to them that I’m positive a lot of metalites will become accustomed to almost immediately. And the guitars and drums are absolutely … Continue reading Beyond the Styx – Sloughing Off the Shades

Matty Trash And the Horrorbles – Part 2: The Decay

I know that band name doesn’t sound the best, but believe me when I say this is good music. When I was emailed by Matty Trash himself he said that they were an Australian horror metal band. First, Australia for metal music all the way! Second, I didn’t really find the “horror” in this that I was told about. To me horror metal is the kind of stuff Zombie Death Stench comes up with. But I’ll go with it. “Part 2: The Decay” is a nice short EP that has a really nice rhythm and beat to the songs. The … Continue reading Matty Trash And the Horrorbles – Part 2: The Decay

1 In Five – Hold On EP

Tell you what. . . I really like some nice flowing rock music with good tunes and a nice beat. 1 In Five had all of that. Personally I thought the opening track “Something In The Water” was the best and it really set the tone for the rest of “Hold On”. The entire EP had a nice flow to it and sounded really nice. Each band member did a real good job and  staying as rock as possible and that made each song sound like a true rock song which I haven’t seen for a little while so it’s … Continue reading 1 In Five – Hold On EP
