I’ve personally never really listened to Godsmack except for their songs “Greed” and “Voodoo”. Sue me. I’ve heard mixed comments about “1000hp” but since I’ve never had any special love or hatred for Godsmack so I practically began listening to this without really expecting anything except some hard rock. And that’s what I got. In my opinion it was amazing but it wasn’t God awful terrible either. The album compared to what little I’ve wasn’t as hard rock but it still falls under the same category. The vocals were more or less the same in my opinion though. “1000hp” seemed to be much more smooth and calmer album in my eyes which isn’t a bad thing by far but it doesn’t seem like it worked out as well as someone might think it would’ve. It still sounds good don’t get me wrong, I just think a smooth sounding album isn’t this band’s forte especially when their name is Godsmack. If you want to check out “1000hp” and not pay attention to what I’m saying go on right ahead and form your own opinion. Like I said, never really listened to Godsmack so maybe a long time listener can form a better opinion that I can.
