I’ve never really listened to grindcore before, but as with just about everything I’m always open to something new and Degenerhate is definitely new for me. I’m not used to going in to listen to an album, looking at the number of tracks, and seeing nineteen! That was definitely something I’m not used to. Of course, me being stupid I thought that these were all songs that were anywhere between 2 to 5 minutes long. Thankfully they weren’t. The longest was almost 4 minutes if I remember correctly (the program I had to use didn’t show all the lengths at once), but the majority of them were below a minute and thirty seconds. They were all ultra-fast paced and had an absolutely vicious monstrous tone to them along with the vocals that just hack away at your ear drums whenever they’re going. And the guitars and drums together are just furiously badass with having a raw sound that just doesn’t end. “Chronicles of the Apocalypse” may not be for everyone, but for the hardcore grindcore lovers this album is definitely one for you.
