I never want to hear the words “Sweden doesn’t make good metal” because that is bullshit on a scale of unimaginable proportions. Amon Amarth is one great example, and now another has come upon my radar. Gust’s self titled album, while short, has all-round amazing tracks that are hardcore and are the embodiment of the heavier of metal today if I to choose a band that isn’t well known. And that’s sad because Gust is one of those bands that deserves to be more well known along with other amazing bands like A Breach of Silence, Hate Division, and Gentrification (all of which I’ve reviewed and loved). Maybe someday Gust will get up there because this album has great vocals, guitars, bass, drums, tone, and everything else in between. This was a great album by all metal music standards with have a brutality that’s able to have many, many fans flock to the sound because they know that more awesomeness is on the way. And (once more) sadly, Gust does not have any social media accounts that I can give you, yes I’ve checked.
