I’ve never heard of Affiance or either of their first two albums, but “Blackout” absolutely blows it out of the water for me. The album is very catchy but it avoids having a poppy sound to it that sometimes doesn’t mix well with metal and can screw it up for many people but that is not the case here. Affiance manages to avoid that and still making “Blackout” one great piece of melodic metal that I’ve no doubt many people will enjoy. The album doesn’t rely so much on hardcore vocals than it does on guitars that have amazing sound to them that goes all through the album and never stops. With this being on the third release, I’m sure that Affiance will be able to do much more albums like this in the future where it’ll make everyone shit themselves even more.
