To those of you out there who love songs that are very long and keep your attention the entire time, I have this to say : you haven’t seen shit yet. Inter Arma’s brand new album “The Cavern” is a one track album (album, not single) that lasts an astounding 45 minutes and 44 seconds. Forty-five minutes! Holy fuck! “The Cavern” is one of the most amazing tracks that I’ve ever heard in my life. It has fast moments, slow moments, and moments that just sound fucking amazing. To me it’s like if someone took “Master of Puppets” made it better, much longer, and made it everything a real metal fan could want and more. “The Cavern” is so great that I listened to it twice in a row. That’s over 90 minutes of my life gone from just one song. But you know what? It was totally worth it. Inter Arma’s last release “Sky Burial” received rave reviews all around, and I’ve no doubt that “The Cavern” is a more than good enough follow up for Inter Arma that will solidify them as one of the best metal bands out there today. If it hasn’t already, that is. And Inter Arma themselves had this to say about the making of “The Cavern” on Facebook earlier today (October 15) : “There are a number of guest musicians on it, and we’ve noticed some of them are getting overlooked in reviews/write-ups/etc. On top of contributions from Dorthia Cottrell of Windhand (vocals), Meg Mulhearn of U.S. Christmas/Divine Circles (violins) and Shibby Poole of Yautja (synths) there are also significant contributions from Jon Liedtke of Shroud of Despondency (synths, theremin) and Mikey Allred of Across Tundras (bowed bass, synth, organ). We just want to make sure everyone gets credit where credit is due!”
“The Cavern” is set for release October 10th in Germany, the 13th in UK, and 14th in US and everywhere else.
