Obituary – Inked In Blood

12 Jacket (Gatefold - Two Pocket) [GD30OB2-N] Obituary’s upcoming album “Inked In Blood” comes to us on October 27th and I can guarantee that true fans of Obituary will not be disappointed. If you are . . . well, listen to it again. While I, personally, would not give this a ten out of ten, five stars, or two thumbs up, I do give it a singular thumb raised to the air and a high recommendation for anyone who’s into death metal. The only real thing that I have to be a nit-picky critic about is that I believe death metal sounds much better when it’s fast and brutal. Now I’m not saying Obituary sounded bad because they didn’t have many fast tracks, I’m just saying that in my opinion I would’ve found it more favorable. Death metal that’s like this is good, don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t enjoy it as much. Now enough of me being a prick and time to look at the other good shit about “Inked In Blood”. The album has a brutal sound to it that, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, is displayed through the album cover quite obviously. Obituary certainly put the “death” into death metal with “Inked In Blood”. Overall, I did like the new album, with that one except, I know, but I still firmly believe many people won’t be disappointed with this because of just how raw and good it is.
