Oddly enough, it’s not often that I can really find a band that has made an album that I can say with 100% certainty is undeniably material that is tradition head-banging material. Now some people might disagree, but I’m not some people so I say it is. The guitars enforced this violent and hardcore sound to “Watchers of Rule” that made is so goddamned enjoyable for me throughout the entire album where not one moment goes by without a moment where you couldn’t be head-banging. And (of course) the vocals and drums are behind this feel also. The drums have a brutal and incredibly vicious beat to them that are just so awesome that no true metal head can deny are awesome to the fullest extent of the word. Then the vocals have a hardcore, ferocious overall sound and feel to them that really bring out the brutality to the max during the entire album that the need for heavy heavy metal is satiated but it’s also more intense at the same time because you just want more as the album keeps going. “Watchers of Rule” may not be what some call a “masterpiece” but it is one that people can call something that they weren’t expecting.
