Freeform metal is exactly what it sounds like. It doesn’t exactly follow any pattern and just goes all over the fucking place in terms of rhythm, sound, and whatever else you can come up with to describe a song. And straight out the gates, Second Brain’s debut album “Synthesis” does just that with guitars that have a very wide variety of style and sound that just sounds really good throughout the entire album. The vocals also have a solid rhythm, pace, and overall sound to them that I believe will suit a lot of people out there will enjoy simply because of the sound and flow of them which are both done really, really well in my opinion. Now I will say that “Synthesis” isn’t something I’d listen to on a regular basis it is something that I know a lot of other people out there can. But I’ve no doubt that Second Brain will hone their skills by the time of their sophomore album that I will find much, much more enjoyable.
