I think that just by looking at the cover art that we can all agree that this is some intense death metal. Cognitive’s self-titled debut album really shows that this band has a goal: to make the best death metal that they can while emphasizing the “death” as much as possible. And so far with this album, they’re doing pretty damn good. This album straight from the get-go comes out at you with all guns blazing, kicking names, and making your goddamn ears bleed. Each song off of this is hardcore and intense in every sort of way when it comes down to death metal and it will have fans of the genre (hello!) digging and head banging to if they enjoyed Cognitive as much as I did. And Cognitive have set the bar for outside-of-the-box thinking for death metal albums now whether people know it or not because this truly is something that is unique.
