I’ve never heard power metal as heavy as Thunder and Lightning’s new EP “Slice of Life”, but I’m glad I finally have because this is an excellent power metal EP for any fan of heavy metal in general with a good bit of melody in it. “Slice of Life” has an amazingly smooth, but heavy, feel to it in all 5 tracks, two of which are redone from previous albums. They sound fantastic so I imagine that they were awesome to begin with but now they’re even more awesome, so that’s a plus. The vocals is where that smooth factor I mentioned comes in, and obviously the melodic guitars are the heavy part that’s only improved upon with the drums. Just the pace alone is marvelous. “Slice of Life” is an awesome album in every way where power metal fans (hello) will be able to enjoy like I did, which is a lot.
