I’ve always been big into instrumental music because it’s just the type of thing that after a long day of work and listening to all the death metal, black metal, and other heavy as fuck shit I hear at work I wanna wind down with something calmer and doesn’t require much focus to enjoy. One of the select instrumental bands I listen to are Sisters Of… whose last album got my absolute approval, and left me wanting more. This new song, “Adulescentia”, is all I ever wanted and gets nothing but more approval from me.
If you like post metal, or even post rock, whatever, then you better go buy yourself a new pair of pants because you will shit right through the pair you have on when you first hear Sisters Of…. They’ve shown they’re more than competent enough to keep the listener engaged in the music without the need for lyrics, but instead use wondrous implementations of the guitars, bass, and drums to entice you and keep you more than entertained for the entirety of the music. The same rings very true for Sisters Of…’s brand new single, “Adulescentia” (loosely Latin for “youth”). This song has everything that you could want out of this two man band including a killer opening to wet the palette, sick riffs to get the feet tapping to the rhythm out of sheer joy, and just an overall good of instrumental post metal that you’d be extremely hard pressed to find in such high quality elsewhere. This is not off Sisters Of…’s next album, however, as it was supposed to be on the last record but wasn’t finished in time. I personally wouldn’t want it any other way because now that we got “Adulescentia” we get yet another sampler as to the talent these two have and to what we could expect off of a follow up record.
Another solid piece of top notch post metal, Sisters Of… prove yet again that they know more than the majority of post metal bands as they nail the sound, the feel, and the texture of the genre without needing vocals which is a magnificent feat in it of itself.
