Something that so many music fans find themselves divided between is to make their music rich with either a classic sound or take a more innovative route in order to carve their own path with music that they can truly say is unique to them. It’s not often that we find younger bands that can embody a classic feel all that well, but like most things, I’m always ready to be surprised. When I stumbled across Swamp Moth on Bandcamp, surprised is a poor word to describe my reaction. I was fucking blown away!

The thing that always keeps classic rock tied together in the beautifully wrapped packages they always come in are the wondrously catchy riffs that sprinkle every single song of any given album. To match that, many bands execute this riffage with an incredibly energetic attitude that permeates every single moment of their music to truly give the music itself a unique personality that any one person can sink into and become part of because of how easily accessible it is. That’s precisely what Swamp Moth has done with their brand new eponymous EP as it’s just the sort of thing that fans of classic rock have been salivating for, and these five tracks know how to fucking deliver! Right off the bat, it’s clear that Swamp Moth has brought something special to the table with their exceedingly electric performance showing all by itself that Swamp Moth is something that demands to be heard. While the formula is basically the same for this whole EP, that doesn’t detract from the sheer awesomeness that Swamp Moth performs with each song and with each note shows us they know their way around classic rock like extremely few modern bands do. It’s a unique skill for a unique band that will quickly garner them tones of praise if it hasn’t already.

Swamp Moth is a rare commodity in the world of modern rock where many bands go in many different directions, but it’s not often by any means that bands will manage to master the classic sound where even many classic bands haven’t nailed the sound completely. These stunning five tracks show that Swamp Moth doesn’t just have the will to make high-quality rock and that hits just as hard, but they’ve also the talent the back them up at every turn!
