I remember when Wrong put out their eponymous debut not all that long ago, and it was quite the slab to behold. It showed in every capacity that these guys weren’t fucking around by any means whatsoever has their nasty fusion of rock and metal has spawned something that can only be defined as greasy and filthy as all hell. It’s left me salivating for a while to see what else Wrong would be able to make, and their sophomore effort is no pushover nor a disappointment of any kind.
While that cover art doesn’t really give much insight as to what “Feel Great” beholds, it’s the name of the album itself that truly sells the piece before you even listen to it. It’s a deliberate satire on the sheer aggression and overwhelming force that Wrong has become known for, and that album title really drives home how despicable they really are. And then there’s the actual music. Holy shit! The sheer volume that Wrong’s crushing fusion of noise rock, alt metal, and punk signature sound comes to a head with “Feel Great” as each track is incredibly melodic, unrelentingly heavy, and viciously fast. No stone is left unturned with this massive record with “Feel Great” leaving you feeling the exact opposite of great, but it still fills you up with fucking energy the likes of which few records can, and I can already tell that each song is destined to one crowd pleaser after another when Wrong takes them on the road. Should you want an eclectic set of eleven tracks that are somehow filled with grit, emotion, and true chaos then look no further as Wrong has created the penultimate piece with “Feel Great” that is undoubtedly the soundtrack to 2018 as we know it.
The world is by no means lacking when it comes to bands ready to tear the ceiling down, but few manage to do it and then actually make it sound fucking awesome. Wrong is one of the few exceptions to do just that, and “Feel Great” is so far their magnum opus that shows the true power and talent that is behind this act that shouldn’t be taken lightly at all.
