The further I go into the realm of grind I continuously find acts that always bring new meaning to the style for me as it’s with each new band that possibilities always get crazy and the intensity ceiling continuously rises. It’s such an escalation in ferocity and a commitment to simply spreading a ravenous flame as far as possible that continuously draws me back to the scene, and it’s with the upcoming Fordærv record that the trend continues for me in no less than splendid fashion.

Of course, it’s the sheer madness of everything about grind that really makes for an engaging listen as we dare to experience one of the more truly punishing styles that have been created, and it’s been subjected to many different forms of experimentation as we see many different bands approach the style with a great deal of respect as well as more than enough talent to do it justice. While Fordærv doesn’t bring anything new to the table with their brand of grind, it’s with “Knep Dig Selv Ihjel” that this band from Denmark has made one fucking hell of a rager that does its job in just the first track alone to make the proceeding fifteen one delectable treat after another. It’s many times that I’ve seen numerous grind acts make the quick sparks of intensity that is often expected with the genre, but it’s here that Fordærv brings the same explosive energy across the typically short songs but with an impressive display of immensely aggressive energy that does not let up except as each track transitions to the next. There’s not a single track within the constant mob that is “Knep Dig Selv Ihjel” that’s not an immense, chaotic spur of madness wrapped in delicious melody that’s always present but far from overpowering such that it’s the blood and flame that carries “Knep Dig Selv Ihjel” forth.

Each track is an absolutely massive effort of defiance to all there is that Fordærv has thrown upon the world that has brought grind even more glory in my eyes as this band truly devastates in a way that we’ve all seen before. Yet, that doesn’t take away from the sheer intoxicating nature and raw power that’s at work for the entirety of “Knep Dig Selv Ihjel”.
