Usually, when a band puts out a debut of any form no matter if it’s a demo or a fully mastered full-length album, it’s not unusual to expect the band in question to have a span of at least a year before putting out new material. But, some bands just refuse to stay quiet for too long and Tumanduumband has already proven themselves to be one such name as it’s with their latest offering of satanic-encrusted doom that this duo gives us a very quick response to their debut demo that was released barely five months ago.

The tropes of doom are many with so many of them being employed so very often that I know plenty of people have come to find their usage either boring or even enough to find immense distaste in. I, though, feel that you can use all the tropes you could ever want so long as you do them justice and not just bring them to the table out of laziness. Somehow, it’s through instrumental fuzz that Tumanduumband has brought flavors of Satan worship to their music that reminds me very much of the latest Clouds Taste Satanic where not a single word is spoken but you can hear the preaching throughout every single tremendous riff. “Cursed with Blackened Tongues” is prime doom real estate as it brings nothing new to the table for the style whatsoever but it’s through the immense fervor and power behind all four of these tracks with which Tumanduumband capitalize greatly with that transform this album into a kick-ass experience that you can easily fall into. Just to be able to turn your brain off and let the riffs of “Cursed with Blackened Tongues” take you wherever they may is a unique kind of euphoria that can almost always hit home as this duo’s deadly accuracy comes into play at every turn throughout this treat of an EP.

To see a band’s quality increase from one release to the next is always a great treat to eat right up, and the same goes here for Tumanduumband as this EP still has that same passion we heard in that debut. Yet,  much more quality and a lot more badassery goes into the four tracks of “Cursed with Blackened Tongues” to not only make it a venomous little morsel of doom, but one that promises even better things for this voracious duo.
