Alienatör – Pariahs

There are many different sounds out there in the world of music that it’s almost impossible to keep track of them all as so many different acts are coming up with new sounds that are definitely interesting, but can easily fly under the radar of anyone and I am no different from that unfortunate rule. One such sound that I’ve been interested in for some time now but somehow always forget exists is noise rock and it’s the exact sort of loud rock that many of us clamor for. I find it incredibly intriguing but almost always find myself forgetting it exists until I come across a band that employs it quite nice like how I did tonight! Alienatör provided me with a great slap of remembrance to the face that was as punishing as it was fun.

It’s not incredibly often that I listen to noise rock like I said, but I always come to love the chaotic energy that’s always on display whenever I come across an act that brings the sound to an excellent level. Whether it’s my go-to band of the style Wrong or a small act like Alienatör that’s just starting out, it seems to be universally known as to what attitude is needed to successfully pull off noise rock in such a way that ensures the material is all but scrumptious. “Pariahs” would’ve been easily forgiven if there were a fair amount of missteps simply because it’s the band’s debut album, but there’s such potency in “Pariahs” that it’s hard to not get sucked into the immense power that’s always swirling within it. Across all thirteen tracks, we’re gifted such chaos that’s wrangled in with such expertise that you could’ve told me Alienatör was playing this game for years at this point and each song, including the off-putting interludes that serve to further break down the mind’s barriers to ensure “Pariahs” works to maximum effect. They even manage to work in a tasteful amount of sludge influence that results in “Pariahs” sounding all the more aggressive and nasty as Alienatör never once takes it easy when laying it all down. It all assaults the mind with no restraint whatsoever and Alienatör nails it all with every single strike that’s overflowing with so much uncompromising power!

It’s with every new album from the vicious world of noise rock that I’m reminded as to just how awesome the style is with everything it can encompass, and that goes double with what’s happened here with Alienatör. Right from the start, “Pariahs” knows right where to right at every single opportunity that’s opened to them and it can’t help but be incredibly fun to experience the entire time.
