Ten years of anything is enough to prompt a celebration for good times made and still plenty more to create given that if it has been going for ten years then it’s likely to continue for some time. Stoned Jesus has now been around for that long and they’ve been nothing but a true treat for any fan of the genre with their great sound and terrific musicianship. They sought to treat us fans for ten years as they’re re-releasing their first two demos for us to bask in their most unsung glory with the proper respect they deserve simply because they’re fucking awesome!

Whether or not Stoned Jesus had this ten-year-old material remastered and given such other treatments I simply do not know and, personally, I kind of hope they’re not because there’s always something special about hearing a band’s first few steps especially after seeing them blossom into one of the most well-known acts of their style. The five tracks that adorn “From the Outer Space” are everything that a fan of Stoned Jesus could ask for as they bring everything to the table that this band has ever brought to that very same time with every single one of their releases that we’ve come to faun over, and it’s every single one here that shows us just how awesome this band was even at the very beginning. If one track has got the spectacular riffs, there’s another that allows “From the Outer Space” to have a song that’s just as long as it is cavernous in all the expansive glory that we’ve come to associate Stoned Jesus with for every single one of their releases. This album may not be meant as a retrospective for Stoned Jesus, but damned if it doesn’t work like one given how stupendous we can clearly see this band has been since their first adventure into the realm of metal, and damn if they just don’t keep on giving even if it means taking us back in time.

This is an occasion that Stoned Jesus should be very proud of given their illustrious career over the past decade, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate such an occasion of excellent heaviness. “From the Outer Space” gives us plenty of the glory that we’ve come to expect from Stoned Jesus for years now, and it’s with its reintroduction into our lives that we can see just how magnificent this band has always been since day one.
