There are many bands out there that are seeking to gain fame from the endless glory that can be found within the wide world of heavy metal, but it’s very rare that we can find an act that does it enough justice consistently for them to become something worth sticking around for. Really, it’s only been the likes of Visigoth that have left a lasting impression on me, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more excellence. Enter Black Phantom whose brand new album is far from anything to scoff at and definitely worth a good looking at from any fan of the genre.

Easily, the biggest thing that stood out to me about anything that we got out of “Zero Hour Is Now”, other than it’s applause-worthy quality and make, is the vocals. You could sit there and tell me they’re an extremely polished version of Bruce Dickinson and I’d likely believe. The similarity is simply astoundingly uncanny! But by no means whatsoever does Black Phantom ride on the coattails of such a thing as everything that they brought to the table here is far from anything to scoff at as they nailed virtually everything that they could’ve here. The riffs, the attitude, the sound, and the spirit is so much of what we could ever ask for from anything to come out of the land of heavy metal and to see it done so deliciously with a band that has only one other offering outside of this. Every inch of “Zero Hour Is Now” is something to behold with all of its glorious quality shining through at any given time to present what’s easily the most exhilarating pure heavy metal album that I’ve heard in several months by far.

Black Phantom really hit it out of the park with this album and to say that they’re poised to become an act worthy of mass appeal and popularity would be an understatement as they merely need to get the proper exposure to the right audience in order to achieve that. Other than that, they’ve got everything needed in their arsenal of excellence as we can see in every possible moment of “Zero Hour Is Now”.
