Progressive material isn’t always what I find myself going for, but in its infinite reaches via imagination and talent, there will always be something for me to investigate. It’s such an intrinsic sound that has so many different variables to where no two bands sound exactly alike, and to take the vocals out and just let the progressive mentality take over every single aspect is to have be at a rare peak for the style in my opinion. It’s something that doesn’t get too often despite the wide reaches of the style, so when it does come around it’s absolutely something that deserves listening to, and that’s very much the case with the latest from K Prouty.

There are thousands of different intellectual themes that have found a home in the world of progressive works from mathematics to mythology to nature, and this here is no different. The very name of this album is taken from a quote from Nikola Tesla: “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration”. And it’s really the entirety of this record that does a surprising job at bringing such a premise to life without much struggle to be had at any point in its existence. K Prouty has done nothing but absolute justice for the concept of a progressive album that quickly takes on an infectious life of its own as each song flows into one another seamlessly with each one of them having a life of their own despite needing each other in order to survive. “Energy Frequency Vibration” is an incredibly colorful record from beginning to end with not a single second to be taken lightly, and it’s in every once of those seconds that K Prouty continuously shows us what they’re made of as it’s far from anything to be scoffed at in any form as it’s definitely one of the best works of instrumental progressive metal that I’ve had the immense pleasure of hearing. Incredibly cohesive even in its smallest moments and magnificently bold and confident in every instance, I truly can’t think of anything wrong that has gone down in the creation of this album. If nothing else, that’s something K Prouty should be extremely proud of.

Again, we’re not treated to albums like this very often by any means whatsoever. It’s a truly rare occurrence because people like a guiding voice whether or not they can understand what it’s saying, but this is an exception like few others of its kind where you’re all but compelled to see where K Prouty is leading you in the kaleidoscopic world that they’ve crafted out of logic and the tiniest of movement. It does more than enough justice for its source material, but it also does so much more as “Energy Frequency Vibration” has a real spirit that very few others have ever and will ever ascertain.
