Bestial Warfare – Desecrating Goat Assault

It’s oftentimes that we can find the best works are the ones that don’t do anything new for the most part with black and death metal being a constant union that’s been awesome to behold for a long time now, and it’s thanks to new generations of acts that the trend just keeps on rolling. There are few styles that can be as pure evil as black/death, and it’s on their debut EP that Bestial Warfare show us how it’s done in a fiery display that’s just as well done as it is blasphemous.

We’re under a constant assault from all realms of death and black metal as those styles are never quiet for rarely even a day at a time as throngs upon throngs make the underground a place that is always bustling, but it is in the merging area between the two that we can often find material that is some of the most brutal, unforgiving, and downright scathing by all accounts. With a name like that as well as a cover art that literally shows the Big Guy Up Top on flames whilst being mounted by a goat dual-wielding a machine gun and a fucking beer bottle, how can we expect anything other than absolute heresy from the aptly named “Desecrating Goat Assault” as we set the very holiness of the universe ablaze with these five tracks? They may not be the most experienced at bringing this brand of chaos to us, but there’s no way to deny that what they’ve accomplished all throughout each and every minute here is something that can and should be considered a true tour de force of black/death metal the likes of which is always delicious when it’s in such destructive quantities the likes of which we see here. It’s an enthralling listen right from the very beginning as Bestial Warfare does not hold a single thing back, and that’s constantly on full display in some form whether it’s the toxic riffage, the sheer ungodly attitude that is overflowing out of every fiery note, or the undeniable heaviness that elevates “Desecrating Goat Assault” into something that should not be underestimated in any capacity.

There have and will always be plenty of acts that are the very definition of caustic, but it’s not often enough that we find ourselves experiencing an act that can do everything else well in such a way that it can only be categorized as fucking excellent from top to bottom. Bestial Warfare more than fit that very bill with the glory that they bring forth for the whole of “Desecrating Goat Assault” feeling all but effortless as it seems to come naturally to this trio, and it’s the sort of intoxication that is all but guaranteed to capture the imagination of those who dive into these black waters.
