Necroschaos – Mortal Angels Descent

The growth of a band going from a demo to a full-length album can just as easily feel like a massive leap as much as a small step forward for the progression of a band, and it was to see Necrochaos make that next step that I was very excited for. The act’s debut demo just a few years ago made one hell of an impact, and anyone who heard it knew that Necrochaos was definitely onto something. With their first full-length now in the bag, it’s clear that Necrochaos isn’t a name that’s to be fucked with for it has more than enough power behind its punch.

This isn’t death metal mixed with doom or black metal nor does it try to be something that it’s not by incorporating more than what it has to do in order to be effective, and it’s through because simple in its execution along with the knowledge of just exactly how intense to make everything it brings forward that Necrochaos does no less than dominate for its first full-length album. Efforts like this are always on my radar as it really shows to us what a band is capable of when they take things up a notch in one way or another, and it’s right out of the gate that it becomes clear that “Mortal Angels Descent” is the step into a higher echelon of the rotting underground of death metal. Six tracks filled with glorious undeath that don’t hold back in any form as the riffs do no less than pummel the soul into absolute oblivion, every turn of this record feels almost as though it was tailored exactly to the connoisseurs of what true underground death metal can offer for every possible facet of “Mortal Angels Descent” plays to every possible strength from the bleak cover art, a title that promises ultimate darkness, riffs that crack the very sky open, and overall execution that’s fitting for the machinations of Hell itself with Necrochaos always bringing maximum excellence to the table that never once disappoints.

This could very easily just be the first step of many great works born out of uncompromising conquest with Necrochaos at the helm, and I wouldn’t dare miss one moment of it if this full-length is just the tip of the scythe for what’s to come next. Everything about “Mortal Angels Descent” is made for someone who wants a true death metal experience in today’s climate, and anyone who says otherwise is destined to become assimilated to fuel the machine of unyielding death that is Necrochaos.
