To take into account the current state that the very whole of the realms of psychedelic rock find themselves in is to truly take in a lot with naught but greatness from all sides in extreme quantity. Hands down, Warlung has set themselves aside as a name to be hailed throughout the dense, unending scene after several successful albums and all the warranted acclaim that has come with them, but it’s with their newest opus that Warlung may very well have outdone themselves, somehow.

There are many interpretations of what the very spirit of rock music has with it varying from one person to the next with the context nigh on important for such a thing, but the feeling of freedom is something that most can agree belongs with all of the best rock that has ever blessed this reality. The ultimate glory of feeling the sun on your shoulders, the wind on your skin, and the sensation that you are nothing short of unstoppable thanks to just a few undeniable riffs is something that many strive to achieve, and Warlung has been perfecting it for years now. With the perfect amount of psychedelia even alongside themes of death and destruction, it has to be with all that was brought to the table with the nine tracks of “Vulture’s Paradise”. This is what Warlung has been building up to for years now even as it’s released three wild album thus far yet it’s from every possible angle of “Vulture’s Paradise” that one cannot help but become overwhelmed by the power that’s on full display here with the riffs, attitude, glory, and psychedelia always at a permanent high for the entirety of the album to create not just a thrilling experience, but one that is simply unforgettable. The rock scene has become utterly inundated in the last few years with more than plenty of excellent acts to call its own as the years go on, but it is Warlung who has climbed the ranks up from the very floor of the underground to deliver forth quality the likes of which few could ever hope to hold even so much as a candle to with any given minute of “Vulture’s Paradise” gripping beyond measure and a joy that’s meant to be blasted at full volume with the windows down.

Without doubt, this is one of those albums that simply must be hailed as one of the most striking and undeniable of its kind that our ears have been blessed with in recent times. The realms of psychedelic rock have never been lacking when it comes to inventiveness, fun, and raw talent, but it’s because of bands like Warlung and albums like “Vulture’s Paradise” that we’re fortunate enough to live in a world where that envelope is constantly being pushed by talent that never becomes content to sit in one spot for too long.
