Re-Buried – Repulsive Nature

The very allure of accomplished musicians going from one style to another is something that will never cease to draw the attention of many with the vast potential of the underground all but incalculable when we’re dealing with real, proper talent. It’s the sort of glory that breaks down any and all sorts of barriers virtually in an instant especially when there is real reason to get any sort of hype or excitement going. Just to hear that some from bands like Un and Fórn bring the mind to wonder what creation of doom metal mastery would come forth, but the reality became something much different than what I think many of us would come to expect with the whole of this quintet delivering naught but a devastating performance for Re-Buried’s first full-length album.

Even if we take the experience from the likes of Un and Fórn out of the equation, the past experience from everything else that would go into the crafting of the rise of Re-Buried, we would still be in for an absolute treat the likes of which very few would come to expect to come out of virtually nowhere. Traveling down the path of clear, unbridled death metal, “Repulsive Nature” delivers on the promise that such a name accompanied by such visceral cover art put forth at the very onset for any curious listener with every single one of these tens offering a new testament in destruction and evisceration on a scale that only the best death metal is able to invoke in such capacity. Much like the most recent release from Altars or Under the Church, Re-Buried manages to channel much of what the old school of death metal was able to throw down so expertly with deadly efficiency and more than enough power to throw around at any given moment such that the very whole of “Repulsive Nature” is intoxicating with its riffage, unforgiving in its unparalleled brutality, and downright acidic to the very touch! This is what death metal has always been destined for with every inch of the record offering us some new form of intensity that the previous did not as the talent behind Re-Buried only further adds to the glory of all that has been summoned to bring this tremendous debut to fruition.

While there are always numerous bands throughout the dense undergrowth of death metal, exceptional acts like what we have here are truly few and far between with the massive talent and presence that are brought to the table to make the proper entrance of Re-Buried something to be marveled at. And given all that was delivered with “Repulsive Nature”, I would dare anyone to look at the band’s future and be filled with any sort of doubt.
