Natal Cleft – Particles of Hate

There are a great many spectacles that adorn the world of metal with one of the greatest facets of the sound simply being how widespread the genre has become. It has come to find a home in virtually every country on the planet with all sorts of different styles finding strongholds in oftentimes the unlikeliest of places. For some time, metal has been growing in prominence in the Asian and Oceanic scenes with all sorts of artists coming about to show us what’s still possible in an overarching scene that many tend to ignore whether it be on purpose or accidental. Doing a great job of representing what the Philippines has to offer, Natal Cleft is going down a path that is already well on the way to offering up intensity and glory.

Having originally released “Particles of Hate” as an EP three years ago, it is now in a fresh revamped form that Natal Cleft is able to show us how far they’ve already come in just three years to show off how much growth and evolution that’s already undergone in such a relatively short amount of time. Now, on the precipice on an international re-release of the record with the addition of three new tracks, “Particles of Hate” comes around to show us that this is technical death metal of sorts that people can well and truly get behind. While not as refined and polished as much of the more well-known names in the sound have pulled off, there’s nothing to look down upon when considering all that Natal Cleft has dared to bring to the table. Positively fiery to the touch and magnificently intense from beginning to end, Natal Cleft preserves a delicate balance of technical prowess and macabre majesty throughout the whole of “Particles of Hate” that show just how adept they have already become at the sound with all the twists and turns that one could ask for out of a competent work of the genre. Despite still having plenty of room for improvement, what Natal Cleft has brought forth here really goes to show how far-reaching the recent surge in technical death metal has gone with loads of potential and promise to be had in many different corners of the world should we simply look in those scenes that have long gone largely unhailed on a global scale.

The Philippines has always had an interesting scene with quite an eclectic selection, and Natal Cleft only brings glory to its scene with all that’s brought to the table for “Particles of Hate”. Where many think to only look from North America or Europe when it comes to technical death metal that is ready to take you on a truly otherworldly experience, Natal Cleft is slowly rising to attack you when you least expect it to dramatic effect.

“Particles of Hate” re-releases on April 12th on CD and digital via Metallic Blue Records!
