With a rich tapestry that stretches back decades across legions upon legions of different artists, psychedelic rock rightfully has one of the largest bases in the whole of rock music with the influence and potential of the sound practically unchallenged. It’s at any given moment that we’re well and truly spoiled by acts that are continuously showing us what can be done within the confines of such a sound that is always seeking to expand its borders beyond our consciousness. For their third album, Karkara does naught but justice for that very concept with every bit of this record only furthering the band’s tremendous evolution.

Having already mastered the art of tapping into psychedelic rock with more than a little bit of a Middle Eastern flair by their second album, the prospect of Karkara even further honing their craft is something that has been highly anticipated throughout the community for all the right reasons. Pick any single track out of the six that we’re given with “All is Dust” and you will immediately come to understand why Karkara has become a name that is not to be denied. True psychonauts that care not for their destination as it is in the journey where the real glory lies, Karkara has certainly outdone themselves with this record offering up a tantalizing number of expansive riffs, trippy atmospheres, and grandiose songwriting that only the finest throughout the realms of psychedelic rock are able to illicit with Karkara certainly living up to such high expectations without so much as breaking a single sweat. Already has this year seen real excellence from the world of psychedelic rock with the competition extremely stiff at every given turn, yet it is with each moment of “All is Dust” that Karkara simply walks right past most of the competition with the power of this record speaking for itself one track after another. Whether it’s the immense craftsmanship or the tremendous levels of psychedelia that catch your drift, there’s no way to allow the ride that Karkara has crafted with real ingenuity to pass you right on by.

This is an album that continuously shows us what it means to deliver quality on a consistent basis that is simply intoxicating to the highest order. Where many have done justice for all things in this vein, Karkara offers up nothing less than true mastery with “All is Dust”. Time has been extremely kind to Karkara, and I can only fathom what else this extremely talented band is capable of.
