While there’s always tons of potential out there in any stoner related when it comes to the metal and rock side of things, it can sometimes feel as though, for one reason or another be it oversaturation or poor luck, the scene can seem like a pool that is slowly draining itself. Every so often we do see an entry that is something to behold for all the rights reasons, but, as you might imagine it can vary from one act to the next in every regard. When 10,000 Years came around, waves were certainly made, and now it’s years later that they continue to make ripples whenever they make a move.

A stoner metal act that manages to come around and deliver something that feels potent, rewarding, and fascinating to lose yourself in feels like a prophecy made manifest where the world opens up before your eyes and excellence is delivered before you on a silver platter. When 10,000 Years put out “II” three years ago, many had that very revelation, but I don’t think any of us were quite prepared for just how productive the Swedish act would become. With the arrival of their third full-length album, their second in two years, 10,000 Years has proven many things with all that goes on within the vast confines of “All Quiet on the Final Frontier”. An absolute festival of riffs and grandeur that are as expansive as they are fascinating to bear witness to, this is what it means to watch a band deliver the highest caliber of excellence without exception as “All Quiet on the Final Frontier” stands as an intoxicating romp that’s anything but quiet. A more melodic approach than what can be said about the band’s earlier releases, “All Quiet on the Final Frontier” sees 10,000 Years evolve before our very eyes, and given the directions that the band have always been pointing in, greatness is sure to be all that follows.

Works like this only come around a handful of times in any given year, and it’s only fitting that 10,000 Years would yet again return to offer up an experience that few have been able to replicated in any significant capacity. A real anomaly that has been consistent since day one, 10,000 Years has been a tour de force that’s not been anything to deny or downplay with everything that is “All Quiet on the Final Frontier” a testament to greatness that simply cannot be ignored.
