Many times it is the case that you don’t necessarily need to be the very best at what you do, but, rather, have the right ideas even if they have been done before many times already. There’s no need to try a craft something wholly new and bold that our ears have never heard before when there’s still plenty to be done in a sound that has loads to offer should you simply look in the right places. By all accounts, anything related to psychedelic rock is more than qualifying for such a concept with bands still constantly coming out of the woodwork and showing us what the wide berth the sound has to offer. With their first effort, Astral Nomad adds further credence to that notion.

It can be hard enough for even an experienced band to make a lasting impression with a full-length album, but it’s another sight altogether to witness a fresh name do so with only three tracks to call their own. To witness such an event is to come before burgeoning splendor the likes of which the underground is always clamoring for across its many nooks and crevices with there always being a long list of names seeking to succeed where others fell short. For everything that they brought to the table within “Nomad-1” it should be made exceedingly clear the world over that Astral Nomad has done far more than simply succeed with everything that they’ve brought to the table here. A real ripper from beginning to end that brings together a magnificently vast swathe of what this genre has become known for in recent times from expansive riffs, glorious atmospheres, and a tremendous sense of varying heaviness that knows no bounds, “Nomad-1” aimed for the stars and is truly in their company for all that it sought with Astral Nomad’s maiden voyage a true spectacle for the senses. Thunderous drums alongside undeniable fuzz and a voice that is ever-excited to explore to cosmos and everything beyond, it becomes evident by the end of the first track alone that Astral Nomad has a real fervor for psychedelic rock that we always need more of yet rarely is it paired with such uncompromising talent. Without so much as a shred of compromise and more than enough finesse in all the right areas to tempt you ever further into the creation at hand, “Nomad-1” holds nothing back and revels in its discoveries throughout the unknown with childlike wonder.

This is space rock in some of its purest and most explorative forms. Unyielding in how much it revels in all that it can become in a mere instant, “Nomad-1” contains a wide array of splendor and glory should one simply allow the creation to take you by your hand to wherever it may drift. Already, Astral Nomad has proven itself to be a name worthy of recognition with their future seeming to be as bright as the stars they map.
