While there are many different avenues for any band to take their sound in the depths of the underground and all the wonders that it has to offer for those who seek exploration and magnificent sounds, there are incredibly few sounds out there that can compare to when heaviness is blended in psychedelia in an intoxicating manner. It’s the sort of splendor that many have sought to bring to the table with all sorts of different realms being able to be found and explored successfully from one band to the next, and it’s the nature of anything in psychedelics that bands can find their way into new territory. New bands coming to the plate know precisely how to bring their own flavors at times to make their own iterations captivating and fresh from the get-go with Lucifer Giant displaying that brilliantly within their debut.

It’s one thing to bring a little bit of trippiness to your brand of intensity with that being a theme that we’re only seeing more and more as time goes on, but there is still always space and time for bands to bring something new to the table for themselves if not for the style itself even if such instances are few and far between. A new act oftentimes comes to the table and isn’t much more than a product of its influences with the results sometimes being immensely boring from top to bottom, yet that’s not at all the case with what Lucifer Giant has brought forth for their debut eponymous work. A creation with real breadth and scope on a scale that only the finest of new names are able to bring to the table with supreme gusto, Lucifer Giant immediately sets itself apart from the incredibly stiff competition. It’s right from the beginning that this Swiss act makes a wild impression as it’s throughout the spaced-out notes, rich atmospheres, and dynamic vocals that embody what it means to encapsulate sensations of being pummeled into the ground while simultaneously lifted up to the heavens with such colors and spectacle all the way around that only a sound like this can ever hope to embody even in its smallest moments. Beyond engaging and simply captivating in damn near every way, Lucifer Giant finds itself on a path that’s sure to lead to great success.

This is where excellence gets its beginnings. A more than solid foundation that is more than enough for any band to build upon over time over albums, EPs, and live shows that will only sharpen and expand the armory that Lucifer Giant is clearly already proficient with. Magnificent from top to bottom and the sort of work that pulls you in right from the beginning, Lucifer Giant held nothing back to give us a glorious display right out of the gate.
