Emotional depth is something that has long been a pillar for much of what music has always been, and it’s safe to say that it will always be so. There is just nothing that can compare to when a work really touches your soul and puts forth a display of prowess and ingenuity that feels genuine in its passion and downright euphoric for a ll the sonic cues that it manages to bring to the table. An instrumental work, when done properly, can take that to the next level. It’s always been an aspect that I’ve loved about instrumental music, but the truly standout works can feel few and far between for one reason or another, but those that manage to impress really do things in a big way. With their debut effort, you, infinite does that and somehow so much more.

For most of us, it’s the voice that guides us to where the emotional center of any given work may lie. It’s the pathfinder that allows us to become one with the heart and soul of a work and allows us to deeply understand the themes and ideas that the band may be trying to get across, yet there has always been something special about seeing that exact sort of magic done through instrumental means. It somehow allows for a far deeper connection than what words can get across with bands like you, infinite managing to deliver performance that not only continue to show us what such an approach can still be, but offers us a long-lasting look into the human psyche that feels intimate, engaging, and passionate in a package that is nigh on satisfying. you, infinite lends out a gentle hand and then falls back into an astonishingly gentle yet powerfully dynamic realm that holds nothing back in any form be it in the songwriting itself or the atmospheres that you can effortlessly become lost in. For all that it is, you, infinite has crafted something that is damn near tear-inducing. Gorgeously captivating and simply euphoric to become lost within over and over again, this is a creation that any band should be immensely proud of making with simple fact of this being the band’s debut effort something to be greatly respected.

There was already high potential for you, infinite given the pedigree of its members, yet there’s just too much going on within this eponymous record to give it anything less than a visceral reaction. They always go for the deepest touch of the soul and makes damn sure to put you in a mindset that only the finest post-rock is able to accomplish with it almost all but certain that this is to stand as one of the very finest pieces that 2025 will see out of this genre when all is said and done.
