Given the right circumstances, there is no end to what many can accomplish when the sheer overwhelming breadth of the underground is taken into consideration for everything that it is. Imagination and talent are oftentimes the only two factors preventing one from carving out their own path in the underground, yet that can be quite a tall order for all too many people. Patience is a virtue to connoisseurs of what the underground still has to offer with it only being a matter of time before we come face-to-face with an act that delivers where others cannot. Boasting an eclectic blend that is constantly going for the throat and knows precisely how to bring its schemes to fruition, Voidlord’s debut has power that must be heeded.

Attempting to bring together multiple different styles into one swirling cauldron is anything but a novel idea anyone. However, like many things that have been done over and over again, it all comes down to the raw execution and taking great attention to detail of what you’re adding to the concoction that determines the outcome with many not able to tolerate the brew that they’ve put before themselves. Working off a solid foundation of black metal but bringing forth more than enough doom and death metal with a necrotic edge that infects every given second of the creation, the debut work of Voidlord, “La Congrega del Signore Oscuro”, is a magnificent showcasing of what it means to have a clear vision, know precisely how to bring it to life, and how to do it all in stupendous fashion. These eight tracks are nigh on infectious for the raw darkness that they wield. There’s a perpetual grime that encasing each minute as Voidlord works with riffs, speed, and an old school feel that’s as caustic as it is well-executed. Then it’s the purely sinister nature of “La Congrega del Signore Oscuro” that permeates the absolute entirety of the work that makes Voidlord the dominating force that not only demands your attention, but locks you in place with great sharp blood-soaked talons that offer no reprieve, no mercy, and not so much as a shred of hope for any who come before this album’s uncompromising menace.

It’s hard to put my finger on what particularly it is about this creation that makes it so alluring. Perhaps it’s the simple fact that Voidlord is so in tune with the dark side that it all becomes so intoxicating and all-encompassing for everything that it offers, or maybe it’s the magnitude of the record itself. Whatever the case is, “La Congrega del Signore Oscuro” is a voracious ripper of the night! Voidlord knew precisely what it was doing in every step of the way with this debut nigh on promising from beginning to end.
