Great Reversals – Natural Burials

 I’d like to thank the drummer of Great Reversals, Eric Scobie, for emailing me and informing me about “Natural Burial”. Never would’ve heard of this if he never told me, and I’m kinda glad that he did because this was a decent album to say in the least, however it’s not amazing. The vocals (in my opinion) seemed a little bit off beat with the guitars and drums and that kind of put me off a little bit because I like there to be synchronization among every member. Varga – Return of the Metal

 I saw “thrash metal” as this album’s genre so of course I went straight for it! I also imagined that Varga would attempt to make their thrash sound like 80s thrash. It was a solid attempt, but they didn’t succeed in really tapping to the core of original thrash. However, they did manage to make some good sounding thrash overall. Forevermore – Telos

 Yes. Just yes. Just. . . stop fucking reading and go listen to this debut album by Forevermore. Seriously. It’s very good. Don’t ask me what genre because I’m not one of those people who can define what genre an album is by listening to it, but if I had to guess then “Telos” is groove metal. And good groove metal at that. Not the most hardcore of music, but it’s up there in my book for bands without that death metal low tone voice. Volumes – No Sleep

 Literally this is how it happened : eating breakfast, friend texts me “You gotta listen and review Volumes’ new album!!!” to which I respond “Alright”. Victim of Illusion – Oxideyes

 Victim of Illusion is a progressive rock band that does just what you’d expect from a progressive rock band. They have a calm, but upbeat, tone and sound in their new album “Oxideyes” that does the band a lot of justice to those rock lovers who just like that smooth sound to it that can also have an edge to it but still sounding great to their ears. We Are the Catalyst – Monuments

 In the email that came with the private link to We Are the Catalyst’s upcoming album “Monuments” also came quotes from respected and know metal magazines and Terry Nails (ex Ozzy Osbourne). These quotes gave me an idea what to expect, obviously, but there was one that made me particularly excited. GhostxShip – Cold Water Army EP
