Morgoth – Black Enemy (single)

I’ll be honest it’s been quite some time since I’ve heard some Morgoth and when I heard that they had released a new single it peaked my metalhead interest. It was released today and it’s already gotten some fans riled up and excited for the band’s next album which will be released some time this year. And I myself am quite excited for the album because this single “Black Enemy” is something of the likes that make your ears prick up and your foot start tapping to the brutal beat. “Black Enemy” tells “that this evil force rests within all … Continue reading Morgoth – Black Enemy (single)

Sylosis – Dormant Heart

Sylosis has given us an album that will surely leave some stunned in their seats and others applauding the album and band as I am because of their latest helping of progressive metal called “Dormant Heart” which came out today. I’ll be honest – it didn’t make me shit my pants to any degree, but it was definitely noteworthy and good because the album was jock full of good rhythms and the kind of stuff that progressive metal was founded on during its conception. It also has a dash of thrash metal thrown into the mix to give the album … Continue reading Sylosis – Dormant Heart

Ensiferum – One Man Army (single)

Many of us folk metal fans remember when Ensiferum first released their last album “Unsung Heroes” and how much we fucking loved every part of it and its awesomeness. Well it’s been a few years and Ensiferum has finally reached a good point to them where they can release a new album titled “One Man Army” in good conscious. Now they’ve released a music video today for the title track and I was very excited. I was excited because I, some schmuck on a computer, could only imagine what it was going to be, what it was going to sound … Continue reading Ensiferum – One Man Army (single)

Monolith – Against the Wall of Forever

I agree with this album and everything it stands for. Straight from the very beginning I could tell this album was gonna be something else that was going to range from heavy to a degree that someone who likes metal can love and someone who likes rock can love because “Against the Wall of Forever” crosses both genres and does an amazingly excellent job at performing both with expert skill. The pure sound alone of Monolith in this album is fantastic in every way with how fucking catchy it is and the heaviness that’s implied into it makes it sound … Continue reading Monolith – Against the Wall of Forever

Znafelriff – Ruin

Black metal sure does have its moments quite a lot, and some of those moments are more hardcore than others like Znafelriff here. Their newest EP “Ruin” which debuts on January 1st definitely crosses that line of well done black metal brutality in glorious amounts. This EP is 5 minutes but Znafelriff has managed to make these 3-5 minute songs seem much longer and I believe it’s that purely raw sound that just tears at the ears relentlessly for the entire album. The only exception to this rawness is the middle (third) track “Abgrund” (which means abyss in German) is completely instrumental and is … Continue reading Znafelriff – Ruin

Consumption – The Divine Ruination

This is the third time I’ve done a review for Consumption and I have got to say that they have continued to impress each and every fucking time. For those of you who haven’t read the other two reviews (which I bet there a quite a few of you) then you should know that this band is on the most extreme end that I know of of the deathcore and metalcore spectrums, and I imagine that those of you who actually can listen to this kind of music every day with no problem will absolutely love “The Divine Ruination”. This … Continue reading Consumption – The Divine Ruination

Cold Snap – World War 3

From Eclipse Records once more we have another fantastic fucking album. I’ve heard their latest releases from badass bands like A Breach of Silence and Our Last Enemy, and now they have another awesome band added to their ranks and that is Cold Snap. Just looking at the album cover is a good sign that this album was going to be pretty fucking heavy and that it would sound hopefully great. In the bio for Cold Snap, it is said that they are influenced by greats like Disturbed, Korn, and Rage Against the Machine, and I can tell you with … Continue reading Cold Snap – World War 3
