Dolan Brotherhood – Love and Hurricanes

In terms of how much I like rock compared to metal, I like both very much and I’m never afraid to check out some of that nice not-so-heavy rock. “Love and Hurricanes” from Dolan Brotherhood is that album today for me. Albeit I’m not exactly enthralled by this album, it definitely has a lot of appeal to it with the most interesting thing about this album being that there are quite a few hooks and riffs spread throughout all 6 tracks that make each of them just a little bit more enjoyable. Everything from the vocals to the guitars and … Continue reading Dolan Brotherhood – Love and Hurricanes

Lucid Fly – Stasis

Whenever I think radio rock bands, the first genre that I think of is alternative rock as it seems to be that genre littered with bands that make songs for the radio and nothing else. I was very afraid that Lucid Fly was gonna be added to that list, but fortunately that is not the case. All 3 tracks off of “Stasis” aren’t exactly something I’d call amazing or fantastic, but they were definitely more for someone like myself who prizes tracks that have emotion poured into them and that is without a doubt the case with “Stasis”. All 5 tracks off of “Men of Fire” are very catchy with the whole band pitching in a nice melody that when thrown together had a real poppy sound to it and made it very pleasing to me because I can listen to more radio-friendly music, but this was really good radio music if you know what I’m getting at. Mulu Lizi started each track with either a … Continue reading Mulu Lizi – Men on Fire

Papa Roach – F.E.A.R.

I understand why some people don’t like Papa Roach, I really do. They believe that they are “the reason that rock and metal are in the shitter because they’ve made their way onto every stupid teen girl’s wall”, well even if it is true (which I know it’s not) I still don’t fucking believe it and I will like whatever music I please and goddammit I liked “F.E.A.R.”. Now the acronym is for the first track “Face Everything And Rise” so if you’re wondering why the cover doesn’t match the album title that’s why. This was a very solid alternative … Continue reading Papa Roach – F.E.A.R.
