With “Imperialist” being Cries of the Captive’s debut EP I imagined that the album wouldn’t be much and they it could use improvements. I was half right, and that implies that I was also half wrong. I was right because the band could use a few minor improvements and I was wrong because the album was definitely something and not an album to be taken lightly especially as a debut. “Imperialist” was certainly a raw album and probably the most raw that I’ve heard since Wretched’s “Cannibal”.
