Days May Come – Revolution/Revelation

Metalcore, deathcore, bullshit, whatever you wanna fucking call it, it has its moments whether you wanna be an elitist dick head or not. And yes, it can suck if it’s put in the wrong hands, but with the right people it can be the music that connects with you heart and makes you want more and more with it’s combination of intensity and smoothness at the same time. Days May Come is like the latter of the two. While I cannot see where they’re going with that cover art, their new album “Revolution/Revelation” is a nice piece of metalcore, deathcore … Continue reading Days May Come – Revolution/Revelation

Unbibium – The Coming of Gozer

I’m not exactly the biggest fan of deathcore simply because I like my death metal as just death metal and my metalcore as just metalcore. I’m not saying deathcore is bad I just like the two factors of this combo as themselves and not smashed together to make some “fresh, new, and amazing”. But Unbibium’s latest single titled “The Coming of Gozer” is such that at the end of the just over 5 minute song it left me sitting here in my fuckin’ computer chair giving this song a solid thumb up in approval. Now again I don’t exactly find … Continue reading Unbibium – The Coming of Gozer

Consumption – The Divine Ruination

This is the third time I’ve done a review for Consumption and I have got to say that they have continued to impress each and every fucking time. For those of you who haven’t read the other two reviews (which I bet there a quite a few of you) then you should know that this band is on the most extreme end that I know of of the deathcore and metalcore spectrums, and I imagine that those of you who actually can listen to this kind of music every day with no problem will absolutely love “The Divine Ruination”. This … Continue reading Consumption – The Divine Ruination

Arreat Summit – Feast of the Wicked

With this album being Arreat Summit’s first full length album, I have one thing to say : damn. I mean that in a good way, too. “Feast of the Wicked” is an absolutely raw album that holds nothing back especially with the vocals. The vocals are pretty much on the end of the metal music spectrum that is just about as hardcore as they come. That goes for the rest of the band, too, for this album. Each member has a part in this brutal album that never lets up so long as the others don’t do the same. This … Continue reading Arreat Summit – Feast of the Wicked

Cries of the Captive – Imperialist

With “Imperialist” being Cries of the Captive’s debut EP I imagined that the album wouldn’t be much and they it could use improvements. I was half right, and that implies that I was also half wrong. I was right because the band could use a few minor improvements and I was wrong because the album was definitely something and not an album to be taken lightly especially as a debut. “Imperialist” was certainly a raw album and probably the most raw that I’ve heard since Wretched’s “Cannibal”. Everything was loud and absolutely hardcore with unrelenting pace and speed. Anyone who … Continue reading Cries of the Captive – Imperialist

Consumption – Induction (single)

Much as Consumption’s last album “Incredulous Dillusions” their new single “Induction” is very raw and absolutely on the harsher end of death/metal-core music by far. Thankfully, the YouTube video for this is a lyric video so you can keep up with the song because you’d be hard pressed to even know what the vocalist is saying most of the time. Everything about the single is fast paced straight from the beginning and I’ve no doubt hardcore fans of the band will absolutely love it. I also know that there will also be a lot of people bitching about the style … Continue reading Consumption – Induction (single)

Upon A Burning Body – The World Is My Enemy Now

Upon A Burning Body’s third studio album is definitely a good sounding piece of deathcore that I’m sure the fans of the band and of the genre can agree that it’s a good addition. The album is quite heavy and everything the band does helps in every sort of way. The vocals have a real hatred to them and a frustration that can be heard through the lyrics and the brutal style that they’re sung in. The guitars have amazing rhythm throughout all of “The World Is My Enemy Now” in that they can go from heavy and slow to … Continue reading Upon A Burning Body – The World Is My Enemy Now

Ashes of Existence – Eviction (single)

“Eviction” is certainly a piece of work. As the single from Ashes of Existence’s debut EP “Declination” it gives us an interesting little preview to the EP. The single was a mix of death metal and metalcore that turned out much better than some other examples I’ve heard before. Sometimes the song leaned more towards metalcore and other times towards death metal but no matter what it still sounded good to me. The vocals had nice variety going from deep to the common metalcore screaming with the band’s own twist on them, of course. The guitars are harsh and yet … Continue reading Ashes of Existence – Eviction (single)
