Methane – Southern Metal

For some reason . . . this EP reminded me of Pantera in a way. The harshness alone seems reminiscent of “Drag the Waters” by Pantera vaguely but to me I can still make a connection even if there isn’t a connection in the first place. What make the two similar is that the songs from Methane’s “Southern Metal” have slow but heavy sound and rhythm to them that just make them catchy to anyone who can enjoy that kind of music. The vocals have that are signature to Pantera also which have that well done mix of a raspy … Continue reading Methane – Southern Metal

Every Minute Can Kill – The Damned EP

The upcoming EP “The Damned” by Every Minute Can Kill is a hardcore and unrelenting album that doesn’t stop assaulting the ears from the very first moment the first track starts going. The vocals are brutally loud and vicious that the listener cannot help but become immense in the harsh lyrics and the ruthless sound of the vocals that never let a single song go quiet. The guitars have an absolute vicious rhythm and take hardcore to the max and their monstrous sound is simply amazing because of the skill it takes to perform those notes and keep them in … Continue reading Every Minute Can Kill – The Damned EP

Amongst Thieves – Revise. Reform

Metalcore may not always be the best of genres. . . but I like it. It’s different. Now Amongst Thieves is different, but familiar. Their recent EP “Revise. Reform” is a nice short album that is a true metalcore album. The vocals were well done for a metalcore band. They have a good tone and were really in sync with the rest of the band and the lyrics sung had meaning to them that were both uplifting and meaningful. The guitars were heavy, well performed, and had a good rhythm throughout the entire EP. The drums had an excellent beat … Continue reading Amongst Thieves – Revise. Reform

Godflesh – Decline & Fall EP

I’ve never particularly loved Godflesh, but I do appreciate and sometimes enjoy their music. Everything changes though. Godflesh has plans to release a new album (don’t ask me for the name, I don’t remember) later this fall, and that can possibly be the album that’ll make me love Godflesh as a whole. But for now, we only have their 13-year reunion EP “Decline & Fall”. I was hoping to do this review earlier this week, but the Internet is a stubborn bitch sometimes and I could only listen to the first track until the EP’s release date (today). Right off the top … Continue reading Godflesh – Decline & Fall EP
